What I wanna be when I grow up
Posted on September 8, 2008
When I was growing up the #1 thing I always wanted to be when I grew up was a wife and mom. I feel very blessed that my ultimate dream has come true! How many people get to say that??? I am so very blessed! But just because the two spots at the top of the list have been reached, doesn’t mean there are still a slew of other dreams listed below them that have yet to come true/never will come true (not being negative…just being realistic, and once you read the following list you’ll agree some are just too far out there!)
- TV actress
- Broadway Actress
- Movie Actress (I just wanted to be an actress of ANY kind!)
- Rock star
- Writer (books, TV shows, playwrites or movies…I wanted to do it ALL!)
- Illustrate children’s books (yet I can’t draw AT ALL…but I SOOO badly wanted to!!)
- Own my own scrapbook store
- Private Detective
- Make-up Artist
- Masseuse
- Jewelry Designer
- Make Wedding Cakes
- Photograph recipes for cookbooks.
This is something I’ve seriously wanted to do for a long time. It pairs two of the things I really love – cooking and photography – I mean what could be better?? So occasionally when I make a new recipe that looks especially pretty I photograph it and put it in my personal little recipe photograph file.
Chicken Pot Pie soup. Which while very pretty it really wasn’t that tasty.
I mean it’s okay, but not as spectacular as I was hoping BUT I’m still proud that I tried a new recipe and got a pretty picture out of the deal.

If I ever write a cookbook I’ll definitely hire you to photograph it for me
Of course, I would never write a cookbook b/c I can’t cook. So sorry.
But good picture!
btw if you don’t already frequent pioneer woman’s blog, you definitely should!
You are an amazing photographer Annie. When I grow up I want to be like you! I am really wanting to get a new camera, that isn’t just a point and shoot, any recommendations for the brand new beginner?
Is there anything you don’t take good pictures of? Seriously! By the way, that cake blog is ridiculously hilarious! I got NO writing done yesterday because I was busy laughing.
That looks scrumptious for sure!! You forgot to mention that you did fulfill the role of lamp designer! We okay you…rocked it out for sure!
