Happy New Year!
Posted on January 2, 2008
Well 2008 has officially arrived. David and I rang in the new year by listening to our neighbors set off fireworks, drank a little champagne (is that how I spell it???) and chitty chatted. Totally nice. I really do love the simple act of having a conversation with my sweet hubby. Even if it’s about regular everyday stuff. Just love the company of him. He humored me by allowing me to take a couple self portraits of us kissing in the new year. It took me about 5 tries before I managed to get our heads in the shot, but it was sure fun kissing over and over until I got it right! *wink*
Also enjoyed our lovely bottle of champagne:
In honor of the new year I’m taking on Project 365. I was introduced to the idea on Flickr.com, I’m going to try and take (at least!) one photo everyday this year…I might not upload them but ever week or so, but my plan is to force myself to photograph the super cool stuff and even the most mundane and try and find the beauty WITHIN the occational mundane. By the end of the year I strive to have 365 photos as proof of my daily existence. I like the idea of leaving a legacy of photos that aren’t just the expected ones (holidays, milestones, beautiful scenes), but even the everyday ones. I mean as much as I don’t like the idea of showing future generations how messy and out of control my dirty laundry piles become, it’s also important to document the REAL stuff…although I’m not exactly sure I want to be as real as “piles of dirty laundry real” would be! Hee-hee, but you get my point.
If you are so inclined here is a link to my Flickr set: Project 365 . I challenge you to do the same! If taking a daily photo seems to overwhelming, maybe aim for one a week? It’s just a totally cool concept and one I HOPE I stick with!!
Until next time,
Annie
