The time has come…

…when the numbers on my DSLR actually mean something to me. At first when I got my camera it was totally like trying to learn a different language. I didn’t know an ISO from a PB&J HAAA! But in time, practice AND reading Understanding Exposure it’s all starting to come together. We put our tree up a couple weekends ago and I captured these photos of our sweet girl indoors, with no flash in MANUAL mode. I know that to some this might be no big deal, but for me it’s seriously big news! It was also so much fun to witness Kate’s excitement over decorating the tree. She was so interested in the tree and the ornaments and re-arranging the ornament placement again and again. Gosh I love our sweet girl! It really is more fun experiencing the holidays with a little one, they are just so sweet and innocent and make the whole process filled to the BRIM in excitement!
Also, I’ll be heading home to Oklahoma for a visit soon and I’m scheduling some photo shoots to help me practice. They will be 100% free of charge and I’ll just give people a CD of their photos afterwards to print however many they would like. Soooo…if you are in the OK area and want some free shots and have time to be patient with a newbie…let me know! Merry Christmas everyone!

aaaaw, that is so cute and looks like she’s really enjoying it! Great shots! And I so wish I was there…I would love to have some photos of the two us, we sometimes try with a tripod, but never turns out the way I want…Why do I have to live all the way over here…LOL!
Happy holidays hun and thanks for stopping by my blog! Love ya! Hugs!
The photos are lovely. My goal for 2008 is to understand my DSLR, so I appreciate your achievement. If you ever want willing subjects, just come on over to NJ!
Merry Christmas.
