Thanksgiving is on it’s way…

This Thanksgiving is a big one for me. One I honestly was hoping wouldn’t come along so soon. It’s the first Thanksgiving where I’m in charge of cooking. It’s not like I don’t enjoy cooking, cause honestly I do. It’s just that my mother, grandmother and great grandmother all were INCREDIBLE at Thanksgiving dinner and they set the bar really high and now here I am in another country without my Mom and Grandmother and I have to tackle this big meal without their help. I have their recipes, shopping lists, dinner plan and all that good stuff all printed out and organized so I’m as prepared as I can be. I went shopping this weekend and got everything I needed, but I’m still nervous. Just nervous that what I cook won’t be as good as my sweet Mama and Grandmother’s, which honestly it probably won’t be, they have had multiple Thanksgivings to get the whole process down and this is my first go. If I’m not totally stressed out I want to try and photograph the dishes, just so I can properly document my first Thanksgiving Meal as the cook. We’ll be having one other couple come and celebrate with us, they are a sweet couple who just moved here from the states so I’m looking forward to visiting with them and HOPEFULLY cooking them a great meal. And speaking of being thankful here is a photo of my sweet girl. She’s most definitely who David and I are most thankful for this year. She is such a joy!
